What is my IP.
This is what your connection shows a website right now. Nothing on this page is stored: it is printed into this response and the server keeps no access log.

The same address as plain text, for scripts and for checking a proxy's exit:
curl https://ghostconnect.com/tools/my-ip/?format=text # through a proxy: the exit address the website sees curl -x http://user:pass@host:port https://ghostconnect.com/tools/my-ip/?format=text
Want timing and protocol tests as well? Use the proxy checker.
What a website sees, and what it does not
Every request carries the address it came from, because the answer has to go somewhere. That address is what a proxy changes: your request travels to the proxy, the proxy makes its own request to the site, and the site sees the proxy's exit. With a residential proxy that exit is a household connection in the country, state or city you picked; with an ISP or datacenter proxy it is a static address that stays the same for the whole term; with rotating IPv6 it is a new address on every request.
The address is not the whole picture. The headers above travel with every request too: a language that does not match the exit country, or a proxy that adds a Via header, says something about you that the address alone does not. Cookies, accounts and the browser's own fingerprint are separate layers again, and no proxy touches them. The privacy page lists exactly what this site keeps about a visit: for a public page like this one, nothing.
About this page.
Is this my real IP address?
It is the address this request arrived from. Without a proxy or VPN that is the public address of your connection. Behind a proxy it is the proxy's exit address, which is the whole point of using one.
How do I see what a proxy shows instead?
Load this page through the proxy. With curl: curl -x http://user:pass@host:port https://ghostconnect.com/tools/my-ip/?format=text. The address printed is the exit the website sees. The proxy checker on this site does the same for you and adds timing and protocol tests.
What do the proxy headers mean?
Via, X-Forwarded-For and Forwarded are headers some proxies add to describe themselves or to pass your original address along. A proxy that adds them is announcing itself and may be leaking the address it was meant to hide. A proxy that adds nothing is transparent to the site in that respect.
Does this page store my address?
No. It is printed into this response and nowhere else. The site keeps no access log, public pages set no cookie, and the privacy page lists everything that is stored.
Why does the language header matter?
A site sees your Accept-Language header on every request. An exit in Germany with a browser asking for en-US content is a mismatch a site can notice. Set the language to match the exit when that matters.
